Silk Road NOLA is housed in one of the Marigny's oldest corner stores. For more than a century, this New Orleans building has been home to at least two businesses. Many years ago, Schiro's was a corner neighborhood grocery store. When Naz and Zak—the current proprietors of Silk Road—took over 25 years ago, they decided to honor the Schiro name and called their restaurant Schiro's Café. Schiro's Café was arguably one of New Orleans' most unusual corner businesses. Besides the café that served some of the best Indian cuisine in New Orleans, along with traditional local fare such as red beans and rice and po' boys, Schiro's offered a bed-and-breakfast, a laundromat and a small grocery area. Experience a bit of New Orleans History with us at Silk Road NOLA, and come taste the amazing menu by Chef "G".
